Rolwaling and Tashi Lapcha Pass
A trek exploring the quiet Rolwaling region of Nepal, with stunning panoramic views, high passes and a wide variety scenery
Rolwaling & Tashi Lapcha Pass TrekkingThe combination of Rolwaling and Khumbu trekking provides an experience of the remoteness of eastern region of Nepal. It also provides romantic mountain views, diverse flora and fauna and rich local cultures. This trek requires a good walking experience and a good physical form. Tashi Lapcha Pass is one of the great adventure points of this trekking. Ramdung Peak and Parcharmo (2672m.) climbing is the bonus side trip and need peak climbing permit.
Rolwaling & Tashi Lapcha Pass TrekkingHigh in a side-valley, above the summer settlement of Na with its yak pastures and stone-walled potato fields, we encamped in a wide snow-basin enclosed by the ice-bound Thengpo and Thame. A beautiful magnificent outlook extended across the Tashi Lapcha pass the imposing Everest massive lining the northern border with Tibet. The programs combines a wide variety of scenery, passing through charming, tranquil villages, while we enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Gaurishankar, the Jugal Himal and the Rolwaling Himal from sparsely inhabited high ridges rarely trodden by westerners. Also Sir Edmund Hillary led a Yeti Expedition in 1950 searching for this fabled snowman. These itineraries are well designed for your suite to choose the programs. Our treks start from the Barabise and Dolakha (Charikot) Bazaar.

Three friends and I trekked from Lukla to Kalapathar over the course of 13 days. We were guided by Bachan Rai. Who throughout the journey was an excellent guide, who went beyond his duties to ensure that we had a fantastic time. Bachan was kind and caring especially when one of us suffered with altitude sickness. Without a doubt the three of us believe that we choose the best place and guides for our trek and would recommend them to anyone.
We have gained a friend for life and when we return we will be using Bachan and Summit Treks and Advantures for further trips.
I couldn’t speak more highly of Summit Treks and Adventures. I came to Nepal pretty
much clueless in regards to what I would be doing “adventure” wise, and where I would
be going. I was so fortunate to find Summit! Bikram and his crew were nothing but kind
and honest. I booked many trips with Bikram, from spur of the moment bus rides to
Pokhara and Chitwan, to a well planned trek in Everest region. All of which turned out
great. When I first came to Nepal, I knew Bikram as my “Travel Guy”. After 5 months
of countless cups of tea, one too many glasses of rum, and a few too many of his wife’s
delicious momos, I leave Nepal calling him a friend. Many of my fondest memories of
Nepal would not have happened without the help of Summit, and I am forever grateful
for their help and kind hearts. If you book with Summit Treks, I guarantee that you will
gain many great memories as well as a friend.
