Testimonials

I highly recommend Summit Treks

This is to recommend Bikram Thapa who is the manager of Summit Treks and adventures. I have known Bikram for two years after having trekking in January 2006. I have trekked with him twice and whenever friends came to visit me whilst I was living in Nepal, I sent them to do sightseeing and trekking with Bikram and his team. I highly recommend Bikram and his team for trekking. He speaks excellent English, is friendly, cooperative and well organized. Namaste! Hope to hear from you soon!

I couldn’t speak more highly of Summit Treks and Adventures. I came to Nepal pretty much clueless in regards to what I would be doing “adventure” wise, and where I would be going. I was so fortunate to find Summit! Bikram and his crew were nothing but kind and honest. I booked many trips with Bikram, from spur of the moment bus rides to Pokhara and Chitwan, to a well planned trek in Everest region. All of which turned out great. When I first came to Nepal, I knew Bikram as my “Travel Guy”. After 5 months of countless cups of tea, one too many glasses of rum, and a few too many of his wife’s delicious momos, I leave Nepal calling him a friend. Many of my fondest memories of Nepal would not have happened without the help of Summit, and I am forever grateful for their help and kind hearts. If you book with Summit Treks, I guarantee that you will gain many great memories as well as a friend. -- Rebecca

It’s a drive of about 8 hours through lush green forest, meandering road through the hills and gracefully flowing riversides. You will also come across lively markets and clusters of villages on the way. Lunch will be taken in one of the road side restaurants. Upon reaching in Pokhara, you will be received and driven to the hotel. Check into hotel. The journey will take about 2 hours over the hill to Chandrakot from where we start walking. Cross the river at Birethanti and head left along the gentle slope to Tirkhedhunga where we cross the Bhurungdi Khola to start the long steep climb to Ulleri.

Day 04: Ulleri – Ghorepani: We continue to walk, making sure that we’re always on the inside of the path, thereby allowing the donkeys to pass. Occasional views of the peaks give way to a narrower valley. We then proceed to pass through Rhododendron forest and eventually reach Ghorepani. It is a beautiful place from where we can enjoy the most panoramic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range.

Day 05: Explore Poon Hill – Ghorepani –– Chhomrong: Tadapani is a small village from there the trail divides for Chhomrong and Ghandrung. The south trail goes to Ghandrung; you have to take the eastern one for Chhomrong. From here, the way goes down through dense forest to Gurajon village that lies just after the suspension bridge. Then onwards, no more ups & downs till Chhomrong village. Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of giant Annapurna massive. It’s a typical Gurung village but now is modernized and has almost lost its culture & traditions.

Day 06: Chhomrong – Dovan: Step down to Chhomrong stream, cross the suspension bridge then trek up to Sinuwa Danda. Sinuwa is a beautiful village on the top of this ascends from here the trek becomes flat. Day 07: Dovan – Deurali: From Bamboo to Hotel Himalaya is smooth ascends through the dark Rhododendron forest. On the way, there are numerous tiny streams to cross, the tributaries of Modi Stream, which drip down the Giant rocky cliff. The origin of these tiny streams is the melted Glacier of Hiunchuli. From Hotel Himalaya, the path rapidly goes up till Hinku cave, then little ups & downs to Deurali. The area is totally dominated by giant Machhapuchhre.

Day 08: Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp: The trail from here takes right bank of the stream, through the rugged path, which sticks on the rocky cliff and is slippery some times. In winter, this part is most dangerous part of the trek for avalanches. It’s not possible to monitor the situation from down. From here, the way is easy and flat for a while. At the bottom of the cliff lots of moraines can be seen. After a while, the path goes gently up until Machhapuchhre base camp. There are few tourist lodges. From here keep on walking up through grassy land for two hours then you will reach to the Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 09: Annapurna Base Camp – Machhapuchhre Base Camp – Dovan: Stroll around the Base Camp then trek down to Machhapuchhre Base camp which is more or less 1-1/2 hours walk.
